For example, the old mountain hemlock: A black pine, traditionally symbolizing male strength, is placed by the south entry near one of the gates created by Keith Mesirow.

Beyond the Garden Gate
Harui never tires of hearing the comments about the garden. Some say it is soothing for the soul. Voices of the haiku poets, impressed upon porcelain, are heard above all. Description The secret to Japanese Haiku is its three short lines reflective of nature and the seasons. These brief snapshots, as seen through the eyes of the author are very short stories of what nature wants the reader to see and feel. The poem, Garden Gate, for which this book was entitled, opens the reader's imagination as to what nature can reveal as one looks through the garden gate.
